Our apps pack pre-compiled, optimized neural engine binaries (such as Whisper architectures and local dictation models) directly inside the app package. All audio transcription and computing happen natively on your device's physical CPU and GPU.

No. Traditional cloud applications consume substantial battery power by keeping persistent background connections open, uploading large files, and checking for updates. Our apps run strictly on-demand. When they are not active, their background threads drop to absolute zero CPU usage.

Internet permission is configured as a fallback fallback compatibility setup. On certain Android devices, if local speech packs are missing or corrupted, the app falls back to standard system-level speech models which require internet. Care Stream never intercepts, records, or uploads your keystrokes or dictation files.
